APMS staff are fully trained in the safe handling and moving of secure patients, staff are trained in the use of restraint and reasonable force to ensure that patients falling within this category can be transferred safely and securely to a place of appropriate treatment.
All staff training is regulated and in line with current legislation of the use of control and restraint.
Clients are reminded that such measures are a last resort and are never utilised without just cause.
Dependent on the client and the company/client risk assessment a minimum of two fully trained staff members will always be present during this type of intervention. This will ensure the provision of individualised care and the promotion of dignity and equality during these difficult times.
