Our Training Programmes

APMS recognise that success comes from staff development, we use regular APMS trainers and consultants to meet the ever changing and varying needs of the healthcare sector and our business.

 

Our trainers come from a variety of professional backgrounds including the ambulance service, teaching, nursing and health and safety. This variation ensures our staff are trained using current guidelines, techniques and knowledge.

 

We pride ourselves in offering flexible and adaptable training solutions, individually designed to meet the needs of all organisations’ and their staff.

 

We have great confidence in our training, which is why all training courses offered are provided to our own staff, however we and happy to discuss an appropriately tailored package for you and/or your company’s’ needs.

 

The provision of ALL our courses are thorough, interactive, full of valuable knowledge, and are provided using current clinical guidelines.

 

APMS will only issue certificates following a full evaluation, with evidence of understanding and/or correct hands on techniques. Some of our courses are evaluated externally under QualSafe a recognisable training regulator; who are regulated by of-qual; these regulators provide us with assurance that only thoroughly trained staff, displaying physical and Knowledgeable recognition and understanding are certified, within their course.

Principles and Practice of Moving People Safely Level 2

 

This qualification provides Learners with a clear understanding of the principles of moving people safely and includes the opportunity to practise and apply these principles in a variety of situations;

 

 

Moving People Safely Level 2

 

This nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in the principles of manual handling when moving objects and people. It also allows Learners to practise a range of techniques that they can apply to their workplace.

 

 

Safe Moving and Handling Level 2

 

Take part in an innovative group lesson, designed to teach you multiple ways to manoeuvre and lift objects. Utalise the latest techniques, helping you minimise risk to yourself. Moving & Handling courses are a HSE requirement for all establishments.

 

This course is the pratical session follow on from the QA principles of manual handling level 2

Principles of Manual Handling Level 2

 

Learners will develop a greater awareness of manual handling, including: common manual handling injuries, the safe movement principles, theory of safe manual handling principles and manual handling equipment.

 

Please note that this qualification does not include practical sessions. Those requiring practical training should undertake the QA Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (RQF).

 

First Aid Essentials Level 2

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification enables Learners to gain the skills and knowledge needed to administer safe, prompt, effective first aid in situations which can arise when providing care; designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic first aid to people they are caring for when dealing with an emergency.

 

Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3

APMS courses are designed & delivered in line with (HSE) guidelines, who regulate first aid training with-in the UK. APMS pride ourselves on our interactive courses, ensuring candidates receive the essential lifesaving knowledge to deal with emergencies at any time.

Paediatric First Aid Level 3

APMS recognise the difference between adult,Paediatric and child First Aid techniques, therefore although the knowledge base is generally similar, the practical elements of this course are significantly different.

 

The APMS course will teach candidates all knowledge and practical best practice; while allowing practical demonstrations and involvement within the course, ensuring student confidence and participation toward their qualification.

Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid

 

Combining the QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) and the QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) into 3 extended days of classroom learning, this specially designed course provides Learners with all of the skills and knowledge needed to provide both adult and paediatric first aid, whilst minimising the number of training days required to achieve both qualifications.

APMS are proud to provide DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING, we recognise that there is an increase in public & commercial devices, therefore APMS have designed a course based on the Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines. Training is delivered by our excellent staff ensuring you gain the most accurate techniques and  skills; leaving with self-confidence & new found knowledge.

First Response Emergency Care     (FREC 3)

APMS are QUALSAFE registered, this allows external verification of our courses. A QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care, is a regulated & nationally recognised qualification. This course is specifically designed for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance service, the event and security medical sector. (this course can lead to progressive higher-level education)

First Response Emergency Care     (FREC 4)

APMS deliver the QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care; this course is a regulated & nationally recognised prehospital care qualification. Designed to progress candidates’ career within the NHS or private ambulance services as an emergency care assistant, intermediate ambulance practitioner, event medical provider, associate practitioner or healthcare assistant.

 

 

These courses can be run at our premises in Peterborough where we have dedicated training rooms and equipment or at a location of your choice

Finally, we are committed to providing a high quality customer service both prior to, during and after training.
